Golf is an integral part of Ayrshire and the county boasts 3 major world class courses within its boundaries: Royal Troon, Turnberry and Prestwick. With over 40 outstanding municipal courses spread throughout the area there is enough to help keep those golf enthusiasts among you more than happy.

If the sea life is more your thing then Ayrshire has some of the most dramatic coastline to be seen anywhere in the world with stunning panoramas over the firth of Clyde. Sailing is also big in Ayrshire with sheltered, deep waters and the picturesque settings of the coast with many harbours, ports and marinas making this an ideal area in which to enjoy the best that sailing can offer. Ayrshire also hosts Scotland’s first National Sailing Academy where you can take part in sail-boarding, windsurfing, diving, dinghy sailing and powerboat handling.

If it’s shopping your after then Ayrshire is also a hub for great shopping centres in Ayr, Kilmarnock and Irvine. There are also the more traditional market-towns peppered throughout the county.
