Best known for it’s film festival Cannes is the place where the rich and famous go to play. And if it’s good enough for the film stars then it’s good enough for us. Here are some reasons to go.

You may not have made an Oscar-winning movie and you may not be an A-lister but that’s not to say you can’t enjoy the Cannes festival. Yes you may not have an invitation but the effect of the Cannes festival lasts much longer than the few weeks it runs for. Be sure to check out the handprints of some of the world’s mot famous and elite outside the convention centre.

Cannes is a great location for culture lovers. The city is home to some great museums including the Musee de la Castre. A former chateau the Musee de la Castre is home to a variety of artwork to suit all tastes. Another must-see is the Musee de la Meres, a museum to the prison system.

La Croisette is the ultimate in glamour. The street which runs adjacent to the Cannes shore is home to some of the classiest restaurants and bars in Cannes. It also at La Croisette where the festival is promoted so you can feel as part of the festival as possible without actually making a film.

It is impossible to go to Cannes and not do a spot of shopping. If it’s designer labels you’re after then you’ve come to the right place. And for souvenirs you can’t go far wrong. Let’s face it, if you’re going to Cannes you want to be able to let everyone know you’ve been!
